Meanwhile, just after Steve Witkoff's latest negotiations with Putin, Russia launched another missile assault on Kyiv. We examine Zelenskyy's warning about further Russian attacks, reports of Iskander ballistic missiles striking Kyiv's historic center, and Vice President JD Vance's explanation for why peace negotiations remain stalled. We also examine Kremlin statements from Dmitry Peskov and Yuri Ushakov, along with Witkoff's revealing note about negotiations involving Europe and Zelenskyy.

But one of the most disturbing developments is how quickly the Kremlin seized upon Zelenskyy's interview. Peskov revived Russia's Nazi accusations against Ukraine and claimed Poland had suspended weapons deliveries in protest. Russia moved much of its Black Sea Fleet away from Crimea because Novorossiysk was supposed to be the safer refuge. Overnight, Ukraine demonstrated that the refuge itself is vulnerable. Ukrainian forces launched a large combined attack involving jet-powered drones, Neptune missiles, and unmanned naval systems against Novorossiysk, with confirmed hits reported on air-defense positions, piers, and port infrastructure. Russia’s defenses were heavily active, fires broke out around the port, and two major grain terminals suspended operations after sustaining damage. The strategic question is bigger than what burned overnight: if Russia’s fleet is increasingly confined to its bases and Ukraine can now reach the infrastructure surrounding its principal Black Sea stronghold, how safe is the fleet really? I also examine Russia’s overnight strikes across Ukraine, increasingly sophisticated drone countermeasures, the latest battlefield numbers, and what the fighting tells us about the direction of the war.

در داخل جمهوری اسلامی هم تهدیدهای تازه‌ای علیه اینترنت جهانی مطرح شده است. حسین شریعتمداری خواستار قطع کابل‌های فیبر نوری در خلیج فارس و تنگه هرمز شده و خبرگزاری تسنیم پیشنهاد کرده است شرکت‌هایی مانند گوگل، متا، مایکروسافت و آمازون برای عبور کابل‌های اینترنتی از آب‌های ایران عوارض بپردازند. تسنیم حتی هشدار داده کابل‌هایی که در عملیات نظامی نقش داشته باشند، ممکن است هدف نظامی تلقی شوند.
همزمان یک عضو هیات‌رییسه مجلس گفته جنگ پیش روی جمهوری اسلامی است و به این زودی تمام نخواهد شد. رییس کمیسیون آموزش مجلس نیز با استناد به همین شرایط جنگی گفته اکنون زمان مناسبی برای اعتراض و تجمع نیست. پزشکیان هم از احتمال کشته شدن مقام‌ها سخن گفته و همزمان اعتراف کرده است ادامه فروش بنزین با قیمت ۱۵۰۰ تومان ممکن نیست.

I examine Germany’s announcement that it will urgently transfer PAC-2 Patriot interceptors from national stocks and pursue contracts for roughly 1,000 Patriot missiles for Ukraine through an EU-backed loan. With winter approaching and Russian ballistic-missile and drone attacks intensifying, this is more than another aid pledge: it could directly affect Ukraine’s ability to protect cities, energy infrastructure, and civilian life.
