The strategic situation in the Middle East has completely changed. Iran has lost its main advantage: controlling the Strait of Hormuz. For years, the IRGC threatened to block oil traffic to pressure other countries.

I examine Ukraine’s reported first combat use of the FP-7 tactical ballistic missile amid a major overnight drone and missile campaign against targets across Russia. With a reported range of up to 300 kilometers and a payload of up to 200 kilograms, the FP-7 could put Russia’s dense near-border logistics network, ammunition sites, airfields, and glide-bomb infrastructure at greater risk—if Ukraine can sustain serial production and employ it effectively.

I also break down reported strikes on the Samara oil-pumping and petrochemical complex, the Lukoil Volgograd refinery, and facilities in Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, Krasnodar, and elsewhere. On the defensive side, I assess Russia’s 108-drone attack on Ukraine, F-16 cannon intercepts, and Ukraine’s efforts to scale interceptor drones. Finally, I look at September’s battlefield figures: Russia reportedly seized 175 square kilometers but lost 256, while suffering 46,230 reported casualties.
