In this episode of The President's Daily Brief:

- Vladimir Putin says Russia is ready to restart peace negotiations with Ukraine based on the framework discussed during the 2022 Istanbul talks. We examine whether Moscow is still negotiating from the same position of strength it held four years ago, or if Ukraine's growing ability to strike Russia's economy has altered the balance of leverage.

- China unveils a strange new tool in the South China Sea: a mysterious floating platform positioned near a disputed atoll. We'll explain what analysts believe it may be used for and why regional rivals are paying close attention.

- Russia is accused of attacking three foreign cargo ships in the Black Sea, killing an Egyptian sailor and raising fresh concerns about the safety of international shipping in the region.

- In today's Back of the Brief—the Trump administration expands its pressure campaign against Cuba, targeting five entities and a member of the Castro family with new sanctions aimed at the regime's financial network.

A new Wall Street Journal investigation reveals how hackers are hijacking everyday security cameras to spy on military movements and gather intelligence, turning ordinary civilian technology into a tool of modern warfare.

I examine reports that Ukraine launched at least 350 long-range drones toward Russia and occupied territory, disrupting Moscow-area airports and reportedly striking the Ryazan oil refinery, a Nebo-U radar near Krasnodar Krai, and six Su-34 aircraft. Moscow claimed 644 interceptions, a figure that does not square easily with the known launch estimate. I separate what is reported, what is supported by imagery, and what remains uncertain.

I also assess Russia’s 149-drone overnight attack, including 108 jet-powered Shaheds, and the newly completed launch base that could intensify pressure on Ukrainian air defenses ahead of winter. On the ground, 304 combat engagements marked the fifth-highest daily total cited in the war, with heavy fighting near Kostyantynivka, Hulyaipole, and north of Kharkiv. Finally, I cover the Lyman logistics setback, Trophy Lab’s captured-weapons database, Ukraine’s Stargate medical-evacuation drone, and why deterrence requires pressure on Putin rather than Zelensky.

00:00 350-drone strike and Moscow disruptions
02:01 Ryazan refinery, Nebo-U radar, and Su-34 losses
04:24 Russia’s drone strikes on Ukrainian cities
06:29 304 combat engagements and battlefield losses
08:46 Fighting near Kostyantynivka, Hulyaipole, and Kharkiv
11:24 Captured weapons, medical drones, and Chinese UAV technology
13:50 Pressure on Putin and the strategic choice

The conflict between the U.S. and Iran reaches a critical flashpoint as target warnings focus on Iran’s heavily fortified underground facility at Pickaxe Mountain. Buried deep beneath solid granite rock south of Natanz, Israeli and U.S. intelligence reports indicate Iran transferred hundreds of advanced centrifuges into the subterranean tunnel system, sparking imminent strike warnings. At the same time, the maritime standoff across the Strait of Hormuz intensifies. As CENTCOM enforces naval interdiction operations along Iranian ports, retaliatory drone strikes against commercial shipping and regional infrastructure threaten to expand the war across the Persian Gulf. Most countries in the Middle East are now involved and forming alliances on how to confront this ultimate Islamic Republic threat. In this stream, we break down the military geography, target parameters, internal politics of Iran and the Middle East, and strategic chokepoint maneuvers defining the last 24 hours for Iran, U.S, Iraq, Israel, and the Persian Gulf.

France is burning once again, with violent riots spreading across Europe and raising serious questions about mass immigration, failed assimilation, and the future of Western civilization.

Victor Davis Hanson and Jack Fowler discuss the growing unrest in France, the consequences of Europe's immigration policies, and why European leaders seem increasingly unable to maintain order within their own borders.

Socialists are going to school for gender studies - and finding out that doesn’t pay in the real world.

In today’s edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words,” Victor Davis Hanson and Jack Fowler examine Iran’s attacks, Ukraine’s drone war, and Marco Rubio’s warning about left-wing violence.

Hanson discusses the Democratic Party’s socialist agenda, arguing that many of its leading figures come from wealthy or privileged backgrounds while using race and class politics to divide Americans. They also discuss the Left’s educational priorities, arguing that lowering academic standards and steering students away from practical paths can ultimately hurt the very people Democrats claim to be helping.

The episode also highlights Zohran Mamdani’s threat to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu, antisemitism, and Netanyahu’s record as Israel’s prime minister. They also close with a discussion of “Black English” and whether lowering language standards helps students succeed.
