Tonight on *24 with Fardad Farahzad*, military tensions between Washington and Tehran rise again after Iranian missile attacks on U.S. positions in Jordan and the UAE. Donald Trump promises a “very severe” response, while Tehran warns that any new U.S. attack will be met with a much larger retaliation. The renewed confrontation follows U.S. action against Iranian efforts to lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz, putting the strategic waterway once again at the center of the conflict. Trump also calls the Islamic Republic a failed regime and says Iranian officials should face trial for crimes against humanity over the killing of protesters. At the same time, Washington says its maximum-pressure campaign will continue, with new sanctions expected every week, while debate grows over whether economic and military pressure will ultimately force Tehran back to negotiations.
