در طول ۳۶ ساعت گذشته، ایالات متحده و شرکای آن «عملیات خشم حماسی» را آغاز کرده‌اند؛ یکی از بزرگ‌ترین، پیچیده‌ترین و کوبنده‌ترین تهاجمات نظامی که جهان تاکنون به خود دیده است. هیچ‌کس چیزی شبیه به آن ندیده است. ما صدها هدف در ایران را مورد حمله قرار داده‌ایم، از جمله تأسیسات سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی و سامانه‌های پدافند هوایی ایران. همین الان اعلام شد که ما ۹ فروند کشتی به‌همراه تأسیسات کشتی‌سازی آن‌ها را نابود کرده‌ایم؛ همه در عرض چند دقیقه.

رهبر پیشین ایران، آیت‌الله جَمِه، کشته شده است. این مرد پست و شرور، خون صدها و حتی هزاران آمریکایی را بر دستان خود داشت و مسئول کشتار هزاران انسان بی‌گناه در بسیاری از کشورها بود. شب گذشته در سراسر ایران، هنگامی که خبر مرگ او اعلام شد، صدای شادی و جشن مردم ایران در خیابان‌ها شنیده می‌شد.

تمام فرماندهی نظامی نیز از میان رفته است و بسیاری از آن‌ها می‌خواهند برای نجات جان خود تسلیم شوند. آن‌ها خواهان مصونیت هستند. هزاران تماس برقرار می‌کنند.

عملیات رزمی در حال حاضر با تمام قدرت ادامه دارد و تا زمانی که همه اهداف ما محقق نشود، ادامه خواهد یافت. اهداف ما بسیار قوی و مشخص هستند. آن‌ها می‌توانستند دو هفته پیش اقدامی انجام دهند، اما نتوانستند به نتیجه برسند.

یک رژیم ایرانی مجهز به موشک‌های دوربرد و سلاح‌های هسته‌ای، تهدیدی جدی برای هر آمریکایی خواهد بود. ما نمی‌توانیم اجازه دهیم کشوری که ارتش‌های تروریستی پرورش می‌دهد، چنین سلاح‌هایی در اختیار داشته باشد؛ سلاح‌هایی که به آن‌ها امکان می‌دهد جهان را مطابق اراده شوم خود باج‌گیری کنند. چنین چیزی رخ نخواهد داد. نه برای ما، و نه برای دیگران اجازه نخواهیم داد رخ دهد.

ایالات متحده قدرتمندترین ارتش تاریخ جهان را در اختیار دارد. من در دوره نخست ریاست‌جمهوری‌ام ارتش را بازسازی کردم. هرگز ارتشی مانند آنچه ما در اختیار داریم وجود نداشته است. و صادقانه بگویم، هیچ‌کس حتی نزدیک هم نیست. اما اکنون از این ارتش برای هدفی نیک استفاده می‌کنیم. ما می‌خواهیم آن را برای مقاصد درست به کار ببریم.

ما این عملیات گسترده را نه صرفاً برای تضمین امنیت در زمان و مکان خود، بلکه برای فرزندان‌مان و فرزندان آن‌ها انجام می‌دهیم؛ همان‌گونه که نیاکان ما سال‌های بسیار پیش برای ما چنین کردند. این وظیفه و بار مسئولیت یک ملت آزاد است.

U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran continued for a second day on Sunday after the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei threw the future of the Islamic Republic into uncertainty and raised the risk of regional instability.There were explosions in Tehran on Sunday as Israel said it was taking its attacks to the “heart” of Iran’s capital.Iran retaliated by firing missiles and drones at Israel and at U.S. military installations around the Gulf, and also at the Saudi capital and the global business hub of Dubai. Earlier Sunday, Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard threatened to launch its “most intense offensive operation” ever, targeting Israel and U.S. bases.Iran also selected a 66-year-old cleric to join the three-member leadership council that will govern the country until a new supreme leader is selected.

After the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran, American allies in the Middle East, many hosting United States military bases, are facing the brunt of the Iranian retaliation. NBC’s Keir Simmons reports for Sunday TODAY from Dubai.

A 2019 Suffolk University poll named FOX News as the most trusted source for television news or commentary, while a 2019 Brand Keys Emotion Engagement Analysis survey found that FOX News was the most trusted cable news brand. A 2017 Gallup/Knight Foundation survey also found that among Americans who could name an objective news source, FOX News was the top-cited outlet. Owned by FOX Corporation, FNC is available in nearly 90 million homes and dominates the cable news landscape, routinely notching the top ten programs in the genre.
