On October 8, 2026, Republican Justin Murphy and Democratic Senator Cory Booker faced off in the New Jersey U.S. Senate debate over one of the biggest foreign-policy questions facing America: What should President Donald Trump do about the war with Iran?

When Murphy was asked what he would tell Trump, his answer was immediate: **"FINISH IT!"**

Booker pushed back, criticizing what he called "cowboy foreign policy."

Justin Murphy argues that the United States cannot keep postponing decisions about Iran. He highlights the record of the IRGC, including its role in suppressing Iranians and supporting terrorism across the Middle East. He also references the 1979 U.S. embassy hostage crisis and warns about the consequences of a nuclear-armed Iranian regime.

In this update, I break down Yuri Ushakov’s account of the Trump-Putin conversation, Dmitry Peskov’s insistence that Russia still intends to achieve the goals of its so-called “special military operation,” and Moscow’s apparent belief that winter pressure could weaken Ukraine. EXPLOSIONS have been heard near an Iranian nuclear plant after the US blitzed 90 Iranian military targets in just one night.

The blasts come as President Donald Trump prepares to fight a bitter battle for the Strait of Hormuz that could last weeks.

Explosions rocked Bushehr province, home to Iran‘s only civilian nuclear power plant, on Thursday morning, according to Iranian state news.
